Why everything happens in your browser
Most online converters work by uploading your file to a server, converting it there, and sending it back. Any-format doesn't do that. The conversion code runs on your own device, using your browser's built-in capabilities — your file is read into memory, transformed, and handed back to you as a download. It's never transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
That means faster conversions (no upload or download wait for large files), no queue, and no copy of your file sitting on a server you don't control. It also means Any-format works the same whether your file is a vacation photo or something more sensitive — because either way, it never leaves your machine.
Frequently asked questions
Is Any-format free to use?
Yes. There's no account, no sign-up, and no limit on how many files you convert.
Do you store or see my files?
No. Conversion happens entirely on your device using your browser. We have no server component that receives, stores, or views the files you convert.
Why isn't my format supported yet?
Any-format currently supports the formats listed above. We're expanding this over time — audio, video, and document formats are on the roadmap.
